From Here… Together: Becoming and Practicing Discipleship

From Here Books by Lenny Ouradnik announces two new books in the series!  The first, From Here… Together: Becoming a Disciple of Christ and the second book From Here… Together: Practice of a Disciple of Christ.

Becoming a Disciple of Christ focuses on what mature disciples of Christ become: Mature, loving members of the body of Christ who are able to love people and provide wise counsel.

Practices of a Disciple of Christ focuses on providing a basic knowledge of things disciples of Christ do: Reading their Bibles and praying, giving tithes, etc.

What’s the difference?  Disciples became disciples as they walked the talk, persevering through trials and tribulations  and learning how to call those trials joy. Believers who are reading their Bible, praying and giving to the chorus may not have have grown the same way.  You can read the Bible and pray like a mature believer, but you may not have walked through the kinds of circumstances that produce maturity.
