Fear the Lord?

You establish a personal connection with God through worship.

In Psalm 25:14 we see one of the greatest benefits of worshipping God.  The Lord will actually confide in those who fear (or worship) Him.

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

The Hebrew word for fear is yare (pronounced yaw-ray), and it means fearing or reverent (see Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance #H3373).  Reverence is defined as a feeling of deep respect and awe.  The act of worship puts your fear⎯your reverence and awe of God⎯into action.

Before we talk about the benefit of having the Lord make His covenant known to you, let’s put that word “Fear” in context, or better understanding.

If you are confused by the Bible’s use of the word fear and worship in the same verse, you’re not alone.  It can be hard to understand.

Today, I ask that you ponder this question:

What do you imagine you would do if Jesus Christ showed up in your living room or in your church?

Thank you.  God bless you - on your journey today!
