What Are Good Works?

The basis of the last several weeks and several future blogs is this:

The outcome of growth in relationship with God is growth in faith in God!

The foundational scripture for this emphasis began with Jesus saying that we would do greater works then He did. We continued by looking at Paul’s writing in Ephesians 2. In verse 10 Paul said the good works are created in advance of us to do!

'For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. ' Ephesians 2:10

In other words, God made able to do the works He has already created for you to do!

Soooo. What are these good works? Or, What constitutes action that you can take that qualifies as one of these works?

If you and I make that list, it will mostly consist of things we can do that don’t require faith. Examples of these might be giving an offering for a special cause or going on a missions trip and helping a missionary. Things like this are awesome things to do. but, do they require faith? Maybe, maybe not.

How could you know what good works have been created for you to do? The best way is to learn the answer(s) to this question is for you to focus on deepening your relationship with your Creator!

We have works to do and we’re going to need faith to do them!
