Which Way Do I Go?

Many of us have heard someone we know and trust talk about how they were healed or set free or how they found God’s love.  We think if we do what they did, the same thing will happen for us.

This idea leads us to believe we can jump ahead and skip the lessons we think are unimportant.  I wish it were true.  I sometimes think that we’re a lot like pioneers who know the way to the West.  We point to the West and say, ”It’s that way!”  But knowing how to get somewhere isn’t the same as making the journey.

But we forget what they went through to find that wonderful experience.  We forget their pain and suffering.  We forget their struggle to maintain their faith in God during a difficult time.  We think if it worked for our friends it should work for us. When we approach our Christian walk by finding the easiest way to get from here to there, we can become disconnected from the reality of what it takes to get where we want to go.  This approach to our walk is missing something.

Are you on the journey?  Or, are you still planning it?  Are you an expert by study?  Or, by experience?

How’s your life going anyway?  Is it what you thought it would be?  Are you happy with your life?

Or, are you looking for something different, something more?

Take the journey.  With the help of the Lord, you can get there from here!

Thank you.  God bless you - on your journey today!
