Bitter Results pt.2

In our last blog we began to tell the story of two sisters and their husbands and a great offense.  Today we’ll continue with the story.

The story of these two sisters is much the same as many other families’ stories, except for one thing.  Years before her mother passed, Alice became a believer.  So did Ralph.  In fact, Ralph led a Bible study in their hometown that was instrumental in bringing the baptism of the Holy Spirit to many college students.  Some of those who knew him well considered him to be a prophet due to the manner of his ministry and his teaching ability.

In the context of their well-founded and devout relationship with the Lord, it seems as though they should have been able to work through the trials of this relationship with Carol and John.  But, indeed, whenever the topic of this relationship was brought up to either Alice or Ralph, it was quickly dismissed as something that no one else could understand.

At the time of the great offense, Alice and Ralph were at their own crossroad.  Alice had returned to college.  Ralph left one job to begin a new law practice in a nearby town.  You wouldn’t have known it at the time, but the impact of harboring the offense, and the bitterness and unforgiveness that came with it, had a lasting impact on their lives.

Are you at a crossroad?  Have you had a hard time figuring out why you seem to be stuck?  Have you wondered why nothing you have planned for your future seems to be working out?

If you can’t think of anything holding you back, that’s ok. There may be nothing there. But, if you’re already thinking about a relationship you’re having trouble with, you can be assured there’s a way through.

Thank you.  God bless you - on your journey today!
