Faith. Works. Relationship with the Father

In our last blog we talked about finding an answer to the question, “How are you supposed to know what you are supposed to do?” In short, we said if God has prepared good works for you to in advance, then it is probably a good idea to grow in your relationship with Him to hear His answer when you ask Him what to do (See Joh 10:10).

Today, let’s think about what would happen if you, in relationship with the risen Savior, discovered the good works He has created in advance for you to do?

Remember, Jesus said we would do greater works then Him and Paul said those works are prepared in advance for you to do, as we’ve discussed in the last several blogs.

So, about those works. I guess they won’t get done if you and I don’t do them. The trick is, to learn how and what to do in step with, in relationship with the Father. And that can only happen by doing things that help you grow in your relationship with Him.

What are those things? Start with the typical Sunday School answers: Read your Bible, pray, go to church, etc. Here’s a couple of thing to add to the list. Choose to become thankful even when your circumstances seem to demand ungratefulness, establish a personal worship connection with Him, honor and forgive the important people ion your life.

Our next blog takes us to the book of James as we continue to learn about faith and works!

We have works to do and we’re going to need faith to do them!
