Faith Without Works?

Faith without works? It doesn’t add up, say James.

James 2:17

“Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.”

In the last several blogs, based on the book, From Here …By Faith by Lenny Ouradnik, we asked, “What if, hearing Him in relationship, you said something when you didn’t know what to say, prayed in a different way from the way you’ve prayed before, did what He asked you to do in the moment, and it turned out to be amazing?”

But what if you didn’t do those things? What if you thought about it and chose not to for whatever the myriad of reasons we all come up with not to do something we (probably) know is right? Maybe you feel insecure (fear) or anxious (also fear). Maybe it’s not a good time or you think the person won’t receive it. Almost all the reasons you and I think of to put off or not even attempt to do the works He has created for us in advance come down to fear.

Our next several blogs takes us to the book of James as we continue to learn about faith and works!

We have works to do and we’re going to need faith to do them!
