One Of His People

According to scripture you belong in His Kingdom, In His family. This is not my opinion, it is the solid statement of the Bible. As we said last week, you are adopted into His family. This week we see these additional facets of relationship. You are one of His people. You are sons and daughters of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

One of His People   

Romans 9:25-26  

(Paul quotes Hosea here)  

As He says also in Hosea, “I will call those who were not My people, ‘My people,’ And her who was not beloved, ‘beloved.’ And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘you are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.”     

 Sons of God (with a little “s”)  

Paul, from Galatians 3:  

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.    Galatians 3:26      

A Child of God  

Stated in the positive, you are a child of God because you believe; And that because He says so.  

Stated in the negative, you cannot be a child of God and not believe; And that because He says so.  

According to Paul, we are heirs (Ephesians 1:18), which is evidence of a family relationship, by faith in Jesus Christ the Risen Lord. You have faith in the Lord. You are His child, adopted into His family. You have relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  

We have works to do and we’re going to need faith to do them!
