Tell Yourself the Truth

If you’re going to go through the pain and effort to tell the truth about yourself, there better be a pretty good reason!

That reason has to be that we can rely on the steadfast love of the Lord. No matter who we are or what we have done.

The positive, encouraging and continual application of the love of God, by God, to our lives works good within us, surpassing our understanding to produce the fruits of the Spirit we all seek.  The negative, discouraging and continual disruption of God’s love by the enemy works destruction within us in the same way.

For us, the question becomes how should we understand love so that its use as a weapon against us is disarmed?  And how does love in our favor become a dangerous weapon of warfare for the kingdom of God?  We need to learn how God sees us, how He loves us, in order to find the strength and resources to fight for our personal deliverance.

If we are honest with ourselves we have to say that we need to know this love of God as soon as possible.  We need to know His love in a way we can grasp right now.  We need this “right now” because the battles some of us are facing are very fierce and painful. And we really do ask sometimes, “Why God? Why?”  And the real, tangible, right here and now answer has to be that we know that God loves us.
