Chosen for Adoption

Most of us can easily imagine what it is like to be rejected for any of a million reasons. Everything changes when you place your faith in Christ! That simple choice moves into this amazing place. When you choose to believe, you instantly change from rejected to accepted! You change from being out to being in. For those who, in this world have actually been adopted, there is this momentous change. While every story of adoption is different, no story I’ve heard describes the experience God intends when you choose Him than the one here.

I was at our small group and had a chance to ask my friends what they thought and how they would describe this “sense of belonging.” It made for a great discussion. Later that evening, one of the members of our group told me this about her life. She said she was adopted as a baby. She remembered her grandmother would often tell her, “Everything we have is yours.” My friend said she didn’t really understand what it meant at the time, but she felt it was something very important to her grandmother.

This is the message of the Gospel, isn’t it? Everything of God’s is ours. We are His inheritance. We are his children, adopted into the riches of His Glory because of the kind intention of His will.  We may not understand it, but you should be encouraged to know that it is very important to God.

It means more than you are aware of right now to belong in and to His Kingdom!

We have works to do and we’re going to need faith to do them!
