Grow in Faith

It would be good to have a better understanding of faith in God and in His Kingdom. What are some ways you can grow in understanding faith in God?

Let’s look at typical Sunday School answers, always a good place to start:

  • Pray

  • Read your Bible

  • Go to church and fellowship with others, talk with other believers about God and praying and everything.

When you begin at the beginning it is easier to end at the ending. What is the end? That’s the real question, isn’t it? Where do you want to end? Do you simply want to know more about God? Or, do you want to know Him?

If you want to end with knowing Bible verses and passages, various commentaries, that’s okay. If you want more in your relationship with Him, then what else is there?

It’s my belief that getting to know God is much like getting to know anyone else. You introduce your self, maybe say a little something about your self and then. You ask questions. In this world, we ask things like, what do you do, where are you from, etc.

As a believer, you’ve already begun relationship. You chose Him, He chose you. You know His name, He knows your name. As you grow in the knowledge of the Word, it is natural to have questions. What if you take those questions directly to Him? What if He answers?

According to how Jesus describes the Holy Spirit it could very well be that He will answer.

See John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. '

Here’s one more thing. A preacher said, a long time ago now, “If you want to know God, worship God!” He said dit with a great deal of emphasis.

If you want to grow in faith, choose to grow in relationship. Faith in comes through relationship with Him!

We have works to do and we’re going to need faith to do them!
