Love is Weird
Love is weird. Love, or at least so-called love, has brought ruin to many lives. For example, some mothers have hurt their children by withdrawing love for messy rooms or other offenses. On the other hand, some mothers have changed their children’s lives by successfully communicating their love for their children unconditionally. Fathers have done the same. Look at the major characters of the Bible. Jacob loved Joseph more than all his children (Genesis 37:3). David loved Solomon but not Adonijah (1 Kings 1:13). The giving and withholding of love has surprising impact on people’s lives.
Psychological studies have shown that even the appearance, or the illusion, of love has a positive impact on rhesus monkey babies. Rhesus monkey babies who received love even appear to live better lives, are more socially accepted and have higher rankings in their clans than those who were deprived of a mother’s love. What is your experience with love? Did you know love as a child? Are you good at love at this time in your life?
Have you ever been manipulated by love? Have you ever manipulated some one with love?
The Good News of Jesus Christ is that He has made a way for us to know God’s love.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world the He gave His one and only Son …the you might live!
Thank you. God bless you - on your journey today!
