What’s Important About Thankfulness

He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God. Psalm 50:23

There is a difference between being more thankful and choosing to become a thankful person.

The decision to become more thankful is a decision to make an inward change of heart.  This is more valuable because it results both in being more thankful and becoming more thankful.  Thankfulness will become part of your character even when there is no one around to see the activity or watch you work it out.

There must be a good scriptural basis for making the effort to change something inside of us.  It is hard enough to act thankful when people are watching, let alone when we are by ourselves.  Sometimes the simplest things to understand are the most difficult to work out.  Why should we work so hard on this one simple thing?

David understood the importance of being thankful.  He wrote what God has to say about giving thanks in difficult times in Psalm 50.
